The Valor Health Board of Directors would like to announce the selection of Brad Turpen, FACHE, FACMPE, as Interim CEO. Since June 2015, Brad has served as Chief Operating Officer of Physician Services at Valor Health. His healthcare career spans private medical groups, hospital-owned medical groups, and hospital administration.
Interim CEO Experience
Brad grew up in the Treasure Valley and earned a Bachelor’s in Management from the Air Force Academy. He then served active duty for six years and earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Utah State University. He has worked in Healthcare Administration for the past 15 years.
Brad is currently the Board President of the Idaho Healthcare Executive Forum, our state ACHE chapter, after serving multiple years as the Education Chair. He is also an Idaho MGMA Past President, having volunteered on the IMGMA Board from 2006-2012. He also served as a Commissioner for Boise City Parks and Recreation from 2011-2015.
Brad loves raising his three very active daughters with his wife, Tara. When they are not coaching youth sports, they enjoy Idaho’s beautiful outdoors. They are active in biking, fishing, and skiing.

Brad Turpen is known for delivering outstanding patient experiences with a culture of positive professionalism and trust. He assumed the interim CEO position on July 3, 2017. Current Valor Health CEO Wade Johnson, FACHE, joined St Peters Hospital in Helena, Montana, on July 31, 2017.
