Valor Health Earns Quality, Safety Accreditation

DNV GL–Healthcare accreditation validates healthcare provider’s ability to achieve or exceed national standards

Emmett, ID (October, 2015) – Valor Health successfully completed its new accreditation process, a distinction earned by meeting or exceeding national patient safety standards established by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The rigorous process is led by the healthcare division of DNV GL, a world-leading certification body that helps businesses around the globe measure, improve and enhance performance.

“This is an important step forward in our journey as we transform how healthcare is delivered here in Emmett,” said Wade Johnson, Valor Health CEO. “Our patients and our community rely on us to provide the level of quality care and patient safety they deserve, and this achievement reflects our commitment to meet and exceed these expectations.”

While the recent accreditation marks a significant achievement for Valor Health, it also demonstrates its long-term commitment to enhancing the quality of care it provides. The health organization now begins a three-year journey to achieve compliance with ISO 9001, the world’s most trusted quality management system used by performance-driven organizations around the world.

“The ability to integrate globally-recognized quality standards within our clinical processes is a major step forward, not just for our organization, but for our entire community,” added Johnson. “It was an important part of choosing DNV GL, which we believe is the leading accreditation process and body in our industry.”

DNV GL’s accreditation program, called NIAHO® (Integrated Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations), involves annual hospital surveys and encourages hospitals to openly share information across departments and to discover improvements in clinical workflows and safety protocols.
